February 1st was the last day of the UK game season mostly known has a beaters day but a few friends and myself has a guest decided to walk the boundary of the estate . These boundary walks can be good or a total loss but today there was plenty of game and with them been wild birds they flew well and provided some very good sporting shots
The bag was a mixed bag and consisted of nine and a half brace of pheasants , four hares, two brace of woodcock , four grey squirrels, and two brace of pigeon .Not a bad day to end the season the weather was good but over the season the weather has been very bad with flooding in most areas and shooting days cancelled.

The Bag

Keeping a eye on the bag

Most were sxs original muzzle loaders and a couple of black powder hammer guns

May I ask when do we arrive to partake in the feast?

It is common practise to share the bag with the guns and beaters on a small day like this ,if there was any left the estate would take and forwarded to a game dealer or such.
