Well. Bobby Hoyt impresses the heck out of me! I’ve got two of his barrels now, a T/C Hawken.50 bored to .54 that shoots a .530 with .15 ticking patches and just received the .58 in the title. It took just a few days over a month for him to receive it, do the work, and ship it back. I have only shot .565 round ball in it today, I thought I had ample supply of .570 and .575 too but nope, the shelves are bare of those sized balls. The bore is generous, .565 with .20 linen just about fell to the bottom of the barrel so I’m thinking .575 will be a go to ball for this little elk thumper.
I haven’t taken recent photos of the rifle but this is a pic from the fellow I bought it from.

Brewer.. It started as a .50...
Kid, he estimated shipping and I sent a check along with a note describing the work we’d talked about on the phone. I didn’t hear anything back until one day it showed up in the mail!

Bobby has done a couple of .58 re-bores for me and the results are great. both of mine like the .575 cast ball with a .015 mink oil lubed patch. I had him do 1/66 twist barrels, one is a flint lock barrel and the other percussion. Both shoot to 1.5" at 50 yards off the bench.
