Started to make my powder horn and a powder/shot gauge for my .410. Need to figure out its happy amount then will cut it later to match.

used a knife to scrape the crust off the horn and plan on using the tip with a wood plug inserted to keep it all one piece. Just need to plug the back and polish and put some designs on it to my liking. I thought it would be allot of work cleaning the crust off but it was quite easy. Here are some pics.

I've built a 410 muzzleloader years ago from new/old stock barrel and it was plenty strong. Screamed for buffalo meat! I think you will be happy with what many consider a youngster's gun. Does your gun have a choke? We used brown paper grocery sack paper for wads over powder and overshot. Good luck with your 410, and you've got a good start on the horn! George.
