Most probably made by Investarms (Italy); look for a fairly large makers mark on the barrel; a capital I inside of a square.

Investarms makes GREAT hawkens. I have a Charles Daly labeled but Investarms built .50 cal percussion from 1975 that's outstanding. I bought it at a gun show last year for $215. I believe Investarms currently makes Lyman guns too.My friend has a T/C and theres way less difference than youd think a few hundred dollars more would make.

I dont know what Cabelas prices these at, which I'm sure comes with a warranty you can actually use(which does mean something). But, I wouldn't pay big bucks for one at Cabelas without looking around for other branded but made by Investarms guns for less $$$.

I am not looking to buy one.
My brother has one, was just trying to find out who made it.

Thompson Center never sub-contracted to build any guns for other gun or import companies.
Because of the TC Hawkens popularity the shape of the gun was widely copied by companies in Italy and Spain.
That explains why there are so many different "Hawkens" on the market but there is only one TC Hawken.

Investarms used to make the Hawkens for Cabelas, in recent years they switched to Pedersoli.

I bought a Cabelas' Hawken flintlock, .54 caliber, in 2001 as a retirement gift to myself. It was my first foray into black powder, let alone flintlocks, but I have enjoyed this rifle very much. It was made by Investarms and has a decent (IMO) lock which sparks and fires consistently if I keep the pan and frizzen clean, and use a touch-hole pick before priming. The double-set trigger aids in accuracy at the bench and the regular un-set trigger pull is OK for hunting. My hunting load is 80 gr of ffg Goex with a mink-oil patched .530 round ball. I bought and tried some Maxi-balls, but they pack a huge wallop on both ends and aren't necessary for Minnesota deer. I received a lot of help from some members of my local gun club including one fella (Bob Traurig) who formerly worked for Track of the Wolf tuning up their flintlocks. I put a Lyman peep on it to help my 74-year-old eyes, also a sling swivel replacing the front ramrod pipe. Other than that it is as-is from the factory. Thumbs up from me on this one! I love my Cabela's Hawkins . Nicely made rifle and pretty accurate. Shoot both patch round ball and conicals very well.
