My buddy has this flintlock that I'm interested in...not sure where it came from.

There are no markings on the barrel except for "Japan SP 1920". Can't figure out the caliber/gauge or nothing.

Any help?

Your direct link to Facebook won't open a picture on the forum.

Try going to the place where the picture exists and using "Copy" or "Copy Image". If you can "Copy" it, you can then come back to the forum and use the "Paste" method to put your picture into your post.

Barrel is also marked Ultra-Hi Black Powder Only and "Japan 1920" on the other side.
Lock still had flint and sparked well. Overall kind of rusty.
Went ahead and purchased it but can't figure out what caliber it is.

Some of us do not do farcebroke
I hear ya...
I just found that picture on facebook because I can't figure out any other way to post the pics of the piece.
I have the pics on my phone. I'm real intersted in figuring out what caliber and history to this old rusty shooter.

I could open the one link and it is a Miroku kit from the 1960's or 1970's. The two-piece forestock was common as full length blanks were custom work at that time.

Gunbroker item 12193067 is similar. Can't post a direct link to the site here.

Use the copy feature on your phone and then paste the photograph(s) into the text of your next post. Of course, this assumes you can log on to the forum with your phone. If you cannot, you have to get the photographs to a device you can log on with, then copy and paste.

This really looks like it right here! I can't tell if it is a two piece or not but I don't see a take-down pin or something similar to break it down for cleaning. Trying to figure out the caliber. Its rusty but still sparks. I"m kind of afraid to put powder and patch in to try it out in case it blows up in my face. :)

Posted pictures above. What do you guys think? Only other marking is on the other side of the barrel. “Ultra-Hi”
I got it for 50 bucks so at the least it can be a wall hanger, but I’d love to be able to shoot it.

I have two flintlocks now (one over 12 years old) that I have never unpinned or removed the barrel for cleaning. Too great a risk of damaging the wood around the pins. I remove the lock and keep the vent pointed down over old towels (DO NOT USE THE WIFE'S GOOD TOWELS!)

You're missing an elevator ramp for the rear sight - but they are pretty easy to make or find.

I was trying to find a source for one of these. Recommendations?

It definitely is not a mfg. date; (1920). Maybe a model number; looks 1970s-1980s.
