YES they can consider themselves quite amusing.

Or the the odd rifle that grabs onto a cleaning brush or a patch, refusing to let go....,
Or the one that simply has had enough shooting for one day and will not let you fully load, holding that ball half-way down the barrel...

Then you get the ones that like to distract you while loading the car or at the range. Your train of thought is disrupted and you forget the powder, or the ball, or the targets, or you lock your keys in the car, or while on the range you forget the powder and load the ball, or the sneaky ones where all goes as planned until you shoot and remember you forgot your earplugs and that covered range sure hold in the noise ...., or the worst ones that simply refuse to go to the range that day, and you arrive at the range and realize the rifle simply stayed home...

Yes, loyalist Dave, The ones that make you forget are also capable of infecting other guns in the cabinet. I know a guy who can take these guns to a specialist Voodoo woman. If you want, you can send me these guns and I will personally see to it that she gets them. Be advised though that she may have to keep them for awhile to obtain complete expungification of the curse, some may take years. Let me know...

Well .... I wouldn't call it "stupid," but my long flinter (Her name's "Hanna") does tend to get sulky if I neglect her and shoot with a different rifle. She'll misfire, and hangfire, and sometimes be verrry particular about having exactly her preferred load before she'll shoot well.

I'll have to watch out, Dutch. My rifle may be plotting revenge because of my new love....a 20 ga. smoothbore.
Your just a butterfly going from flower to flower aren’t you.
Well I’ve been known to sneak around behind my other guns back I have to admit, but.... I never text them, no use leaving evidence of your gun related infidelity laying around the house.

Hmmmmm.....two of my guns are old enough to vote. I guess that might make them Milennials. And Milennials text......hmmmmm......

Anyhoo....I plead insanity. I'm just crazy 'bout this black powder stuff.

I'M OLD AND NO DOUBT STUCK IN MY WAYS BUT SMOOTHBORES ARE A PUZZLEMENT TO ME. WHY WOULD YOU WANT ONE?

If you can pick off a flying grouse without worrying about where the ball will eventually land then I guess you don't need one. But, if you like fun and easy shooting (like 25 rounds of skeet without wiping between shots) than maybe you should try one. Might open a new world for you. Nothing more fun than rolling a running rabbit. ;-)

I pull down the smoothbore off the pegs a LOT more frequently than my rifle for a day in the woods. 42" barrel and 7 lbs even.
