Does anyone know who could rebarrel a TC Hawken from 54 to 58 cal and what is t the cost ball park figure of this on an octagonal 1” 26” barrel? Or perhaps rebore the .54 to a .58 cal?
Tks for any input!

Bobby did mine. Great job. I don't like quoting prices I pay for services. You need to call Bobby and see what he says. Robert Hoyt 2379 Mt Hope Rd Fairfield, PA 17320 ph# 717-642-6696. He is hard to get a hold of as I understand that he is a one man band so when the machines are running he doesn't answer the phone.

That is so typical of Gunsmiths, i had one gunsmith who restore an LC Smith to factory conditions, he had the shotgun for 2 years before I saw it, I was concerned that he had died, fortunately he did a great job. So I am used to that behaviour.
tks
Lou

Mr. Hoyt is a very busy man who is heavily employed as the TOP barrel worker in this country, and quite possibly the world. Last time I spoke with him about 6 weeks ago, he mentioned he had “hundreds” of barrels at his shop for work. Needless to say, he can be tricky to get ahold of as he’s constantly “at the bench”, but keep trying his phone, especially in the morning (be mindful to not call too early as he may be in a different time zone that you).

There is a reason he has so much work. He does fantastic things and can get you all set up!

$125.00 plus shipping is what I was quoted. A hell of a bargain to get an old barrel running or to build the rifle the factory should have built...

Did you send him just the barrel or the complete rifle?

Tc hawken has a 15/16" barrel. Is there enough meat there for 58 caliber? For instance, Rice does not do a 58 that small.

If ya bothered to read the post, it’s a 54cal barrel he’s askin’ about re-borin’ to 58cal. 54cal TC Hawken barrels are one inch.

FWIW, I just got a TC Hawken 1" barrel back from him that he took from 54 to 58 with no problems. I don't have a 1" TC (now but did have one some years ago) but it fits my renegade nicely.

I was once told that I didn't have a tc 1" gun and that they never made them. Seems to be a common error.
