Okay, rather than reviving a thread from 2015, I thought I'd post a new one. I was running low on caps, so I stopped at the recently opened Mills Fleet Farm in Cedar Falls, IA this afternoon to see what they had. I normally use Remington caps, and have had good luck with them. However, Fleet Farm had only two brands on hand: CCI for $6.99 per 100 and Dynamit Nobel RWS for $10.79 per 1000! That's right, three zeros! Needless to say, I walked out with 1000 RWS! In that old 2015 post, Zonie stated that until CCI came out with their magnum caps, RWS were considered the best.

Any feedback on these would be appreciated. Since this is a new store, I'm wondering if the price was supposed to be per 100 and somebody screwed the pooch. If so, I may be making another run to Cedar Falls tomorrow!

Thoughts?

Yeah they probably messed up the sticker. What are you using them on? RWS are very high quality caps but cap size and how it fits on your nipple(s) is the most important factor.

I’d run back and buy as many of those RWS caps as you could afford. If anything, you’d be making a ton of money reselling them.

30coupe, I think you got some kind of a once in a life time deal. I agree with Zonie about RWS caps. I've got a bunch of different cap makers Remington, Navy Arms, CVA, CCI but I seem to use the RWS the most. I suspect that the CVA and Navy Arms were just rebranded from a name brand maker.

I've got a TC Hawken, a Pedersoli Frontier, and a Pedersoli Kentucky that I'll be using them on. I hope the fit is good. I was thinking the same thing after I got home tonight. Wow, I should have bought all they had! On the other hand, I don't know anybody else nearby who shoots a caplock. Most of them have gone to the dark side (inlines). If I get there and they haven't figured it out yet, I may grab another box. If not, 1000 caps will last me a long time! I can't load all that fast anymore, lol!

Oh man, you’re golden. Those caps should work perfectly on all three of those rifles. If it were a cap and ball revolver, that’s where it can get a bit tricky, but they should be excellent caps for your purposes.

Hoo boy! As Jed Clampett might say, run back there faster' 'n a raccoon up'n a tree; or you could get a halo and mention it to the manager of that department! But keep what ya got as a reward!

I remember once I stopped into a chain store to pick up a brick of the #1 selling rimfire round in the world (unmentionable, but just to provide concept) only to find them miss priced at $1.79 a brick rather than box. I told the person at the counter of the mistake and got a smart a$$ remark back, so then I told the manager of the mistake, and was flat out told they “don’t make mistakes!!” I bought all the bricks they had and walked out saying to both of them, “just remember I tried.”
The next day I returned to see if they now had more available, found the prices fixed up and two people who wouldn’t acknowledge my existence.
I still have a clear conscious about the whole thing.

That reminds me of going to the gas station a few years back to fill up my motorcycle with premium. I swiped my debit card and began pumping. I noticed the dollar amount on the pump was scrolling very slowly. I filled up my tank and it only came to like $.07. Then I saw they had the price on the premium on that pump at like $.031 a gallon. I went in and told them and I think they promptly fixed it. LOL

Well, your conscience should be clear, as you did the right thing and told someone. After that, they were such jerks about it, you're in the clear!
