Southern VT Primitive Biathlon 2/15 & 16/2020

Pemi Primitive Biathlon Pemigewasset Valley F&G Holderness, NH 2/22/2020

I did Pemi with my son last February and had a great time. Hope to go again this coming February now that I know the date.
Hope the snow is as good as last time.

I've been in VT only once years ago. My first day there it snowed overnight and the woods where I was began to look much like what is seen in this Southern VT Biathlon news video. Looks like a really cool shooting sport. :)

Anyone who gets to go, have a great time shooting and hiking the woods!

I just came back from spending the day at the Southern Vermont event. Great fun, despite sub-zero weather to start, rising to 21 or so by end of day. Good snow for snowshoes, not too deep for boots. Well run event, may go back tomorrow. I estimated about 100 shooters.

I was there today (Feb 15). Didn't shoot as well as i would have liked or had in the past. It was pretty cold (6 degrees) when I left on my walk. When I finished it was 16 degrees. It sure was pretty in the woods today, and thank God there was no wind. I think tomorrow will see a lot of shooters due to the milder temps. This was the first time in the last 3 years that there was snow on the ground to use the snow shoes. Eric does a great job on this shoot, and I hope he continues to sponsor it in the future. I look forward to going every year. No more "on the clock" runs for me, getting too old, but i still have fun.

Never shot a primitive biathlon before, shot a "6" and placed fifth in "elders" and as it turned out, fifth overall. Great fun, saw some old friends and made a new one. Learned a few things about flintlocks in extremely cold, dry air. FOULING. No moisture to help. Next year I am shooting for fourth place.
