That is a beautiful rifle. Is that a pewter nose cap? I do not think that I have seen that style of patch box on a half stocked hawken style.

John Bergman makes a nice Hawken. Yours is gorgeous and I like the bear paw inlay! Not only does he make a nice rifle, but he's a good guy to talk to. I probably spent an hour on the phone with him as he answered all my questions. In the end, I built my own, but I'd not hesitate to recommend John to someone.
The original Mariano Medina (or Modina) Hawken built by Sam Hawken was a half stock. Hence why that patchbox style is commonly referred to as a Medina Patchbox.

Nice looking rifle. Really nice wood on it also. Looks very similar to mine.
