I've melted down shotgun pellets, its ok for modern handguns, but a little hard IMHO for PRB, unless your using a smoothie, as said.

Cast lead alloys will increase slightly in BHN over a period of 2 years IIRC.
I'd have to go back and look it up to be exact, working on memory.
When it has antimony in it will age harden. There are different amounts used making the shot chilled [3%] has less where magnum [6% or so] has more.
It's best use in ML is being used as shot. Scrap lead from flashing, pipe makes great RB's and Minnie's where Wheel weights are best for suppository guns but can be useful in SBML. I like the hard balls in my 20 ga fowler.

Brit Smoothy,Post22. Have you tried steel in bio-cup wads yet.My best flinter has a Steel tube. What do you recon.

The only steel I tried (and I got a duck eventually) was loaded with a card wrap on the short started wad, then the steel, then a card and the lot sent down.
