LOL. So far, I have resisted the impulse to sprinkle my Elephant on the grass. Might kill the crabgrass though.
There was a bad lot of Elephant some years ago. I got a case, and it wouldn't hold a group at 25 yards. I contacted Petro, and they sent me another case, no charge. The old stuff made the garden happy. You may have gotten some of that lot.

If Graf's powder is now made by Goex, that's another reason, IMHO, to get a shipment of it next time. I don't need one hole accuracy at 100 yards and can no longer see well enough shoot tiny groups. With that said price is the major issue for me nowadays.

Swiss is the cleanest burning , but I've had no issues shooting 50 lubed Minies without cleaning, with Old Eynsford 2f.

I've had similar results with Schutzen which is essentially the same as Goex in terms of power and cost. However, switch to Old E or Swiss and fouling is less and accuracy much better. A lot of what allows you to run long shot strings in minie ball guns is the balance of lube, type of lube to type of powder. Get those in sync and the gun will just run till you run out of shoulder or ammo.

I did some shooting the other day with swiss, shuetzen, pyrodex. Not really intended as a " this is best " video. I was just doing some shooting.

Swiss shooters claiming it burns cleaner.. No way! I get sticky fouling 2" from the breech plug no matter what rifle I shoot it in. I am not a big fan o fthe 3fg grade swiss by any means.

Old Eynsford is my overall favorite, it's all I buy anymore and it seems to be the all around best.
Me as well, and stay away from the synthetic stuff if you want a clean burn.
A few weeks ago on a range outing the guy next to me was shoot one of the fake powders.
Even with wiping, after a shot or 3 he was having issues just wiping the barrel.
I helped him clean the barrel out (I carry a vial of MAP in my range box)
I loaned him some 3f O.E. and all his issues went away.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I came across some Schuetzen FFF and had to bite at it. Wanted to do some research before burning 10 lbs 😉

Traditionally only shot Goex FFF out of my guns. Am I reading right that similar volume should be used between the two? Interested to see the fouling differences some of you had as I’ve heard Schuetzen fouled less than Goex. TIA

Yes, equal volume.
