Picked this CVA Plainsman .50 cal last weekend at a flea market. It is still loaded, gotta fix that. Compressed air did not work. It looks to have been fired, loaded, and put away. Fouling in the bore, tiny bit of rust in the bore. The pan is pretty rusty and the front sight is broken. I found one that says it fits a CVA Kentucky rifle, looks like it will work. It was less that 4 Jacksons so I think I did OK. I just gotta get some balls since my other is a .54. Not much info about the CVA Plainsman when I Google search it.

I had a plainsman years ago. The barrel was of spanish origin.

The trigger guard is made from cast aluminum or similar alloy. They break very easy-don't ask how I know that..............
