Hey guys up until now I have just shot factory Senecas and Cherokees and I have extra barrels that I have picked up. My question is If I decided to have a builder use one of my barrels and custom make a stock with a lock that is still being produced would I have to use the TC Triggers or is this even a possibility. I could provide a tang also. Just think a Seneca barrel on a nice high grade stock with a nice older style patch box and a few other personal additions would be neat to own. Maybe even strip the barrel and put fixed iron sights and brown it. If anyone has done this I would sure like to hear your thoughts and see the results.

Somebody probably makes a precarve stock for the Seneca or Cherokee, I don't know. I myself would keep the barrel/tang assembly, throw away the sights and factory furniture, inlet the barrel and lock into the new stock, buy a nice classical plains rifle cap box and furniture and sights. if you like the TC triggers use them. If not, get a nice set of Davis triggers. Pour a nose cap, and use decoration to pay homage to the Grandfathers. Make meat, respectfully. George

Any good trigger or set trigger can be used with any of the traditional side locks found on modern muzzleloaders.

Some of them come with extra material on the blades that push against the sear arm and they might need a bit of filing on them to accommodate the lock sear arm location and the depth they are installed into the stock but this is easy to do.

If another factory stock is going to be used, like Treestalker says, Davis sells several set triggers that will drop in place.
Check out the "Deerslayer" trigger made for TC guns. The other triggers shown on this link are typical of what would be used to build a custom muzzleloader.

Thanks so could a small Siler lock and the Davis Deerslayer be fit to work with a Seneca Barrel I think this could turn into a really neat project.
