I’m addicted to French Roast and Dark Italian myself. Limit myself to half dozen cups after noon. At least try to. Before noon doesn’t count and it is a free for all.

Good luck.

Hazelnut at Panera and at work they have coffee machines galore! I get the vanilla latte mixed with an equal amount of black coffee. I'm set to begin the day when I have that with an apple fritter.

I don't know what the weight of a 20 sxs is by Peder but the current 12g sxs is way to heavy IMO. My 1972 sxs 12g is just over 6lb and a joy to hunt with.
I sold my later versions!
If the 20g is under 6&1/2lb I too would be tempted but we don't see them over here.
Don't fret over any choking. Thin cards curl past them easy.

Pedersoli's web site says that the weight is 7.05 pounds. That's only a difference of .55 pounds and I'm use to carrying really heavy rifles in the field!

I don't have internet filters to block out the shotgun porn and I drank too much coffee. I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Enfield,

Have watched your thread with interest -- déjà vu for me. I'm posting neither to talk you out of it, nor talk you into it. As it should be, that's solely your call. But the mulling is needed, and can be fun, too. The beagles' melodious music has been very enjoyable.

After overnight consideration, it seems to me that you are quite close to talking yourself into getting the Pedersoli 20ga. Looks to me that most all the help you asked for to not buy this SxS has been shot away with both barrels.

If I'm correct, I look forward to seeing your pictures.

I once traded a friend out of a Traditions 12 ga single percussion half stock that I took dove hunting in SE Texas with my coworkers. We didn't kill too many, but my ratio was as good as theirs. They were also amazed at the smoothbore's ability to hit an oil can with a patched round ball 30 yds plus. Somebody finally talked me out of it, but I still have the shot snake that came with it, so I need another smoothie!

I have a LOT of pre-measured charges made up for the Howdah. It seems a shame to devote all that ammo for just one gun.

If it's 400 + don't. Can buy way better modern. Want to shoot bp. Load the shells with bp. No bp gun worth more than 400. Don't care who or where made. They price them because too many foolish to pay it.

My Pedersoli 12 gauge double weighs in at 5.8 pounds empty and is a joy to carry and shoot as long as you are reasonable with the loads. Heavy loads and powder charges and it will stomp you.

Not sure of the date of manufacture, but it has a serial number under 600.

There should be a date code, two letters in a rectangle.

Id just like to add my two cents....

If you are looking for anybody to talk you out of buying any kind of gun, I'm afraid you have come in through the wrong door. :D

Really. Anyone tries to talk me out of buying another gun, I'll be looking for another forum.

Dad had hounds over 60 years until he had a stoke and couldn't take care of them. I was going coyote hunting with him before I was going to school. We would hunt with 3 or 4 other hunters and the pack would be over 100 on many nights. Oh, the chorus they raised those nights.

In the early 80's he bought some land with 3 creeks that hadn't been occupied in 30 years. It was covered in briers and primrose thickets. He had a pack of about 20 Beagles; some pure, some a mix of Beagle and July running hound. I can recall on a fall day like today waking before dawn, putting on some coffee, casting the hounds from the front yard, getting a cup and sitting on the porch while the hounds went to the bottom and would jump a Red Fox or a Cottontail. It didn't take long to tell which. It was NEVER about the catch/kill to my Dad, it was always about the chase.
I have his horn and his best friend's goat horn which dates back to the 1870's.

I lost my Beacon three years ago this month when he crossed over Jordan.
I Love You and Miss You Dad.
