The people here and you tube can give you those skills. You will be amazed at what you can do with all the information avenues now. Most of us built them long ago when all we had was the vague instructions that came in the kit.
You never really know until you try.
Built a 45 cal 40 years ago. It would put 8 of 10 in 2.5 bull at 100 yards. Wish my eyes were still that good. Finally shot out the 45 and just this year put a 50 on it. Got too hot to go to range so waiting on some cooler temps. Chompin at the bit.

wife and daughter got me a Traditions deerhunter kit [with the extra 32 cal. barrel] for Christmas one year.I found out I don't have the patience for finish woodworking. The stock came out butt-ugly ,I covered it in camo tape and took it hunting.Nice handling little gun ,accurate shooter,took a few deer with it.Just my 2 cents.
