I am the Chair of the Crumlin Rd sportsmans Blackpowder club in London Ont. I have around 60 members and really nice old clubhouse and range. WE love our Black Powder here very much.]

Blackwater,
Keep at it. Much like the distraction of anticipating the hard kick from a regular rifle, the flash-bang is just something you need to get used to. I still remember the feeling when I realized (during a hog hunt) that I was dropping every hog I shot at, and that I was looking forward to the hog dropping and completely forgetting to dread the kick of the rifle. Once I got past that, I stopped missing my shots. Not being good at something is no reason to quit, especially when you love doing it. It's just more reason to buckle down and keep working at it. I'll bet that by next year you'll be a pretty good shot. Finding a local club is a good idea, too. Tips from the other guys are gold, when you can get them.

Down here at the very southern tip of lake Michigan,Potawatomi Indian country.
A lot Black powder muzzle loading shooting around here. My son & his friends are just getting into it after I let them set off a Harpers Ferry Pistol and a Parker Hale Enfield rifle on the 4th of July. Men in there late 20s getting in line to see who could shoot next. Three of them have already purchased front end loaders, think I may have started something.

I'm in Pinckney, MI right now. Been whittling on the stock of my GPR kit all day. About to strike a fire and sit out back and get to rasping! My heart is in the UP though, I want to move there so bad. Just got back last Sunday from a trip up to Dune Shores Resort and Mackinac Island with my little daughter. Couldn't have ordered better weather and swimming in Lake Michigan's big waves was really fun for us both. Great daddy-daughter bonding trip.

I’m 40 miles east of Green Bay, right on Lake Michigan. I shoot only traditional black powder rifles, no modern, in-line guns. I don’t know any other traditional black powders hunters in this area.

Grand Marais, MN.. A bit of a hike from Michigan but sitting on Lake Superiors North Shore. No Turkeys but plenty of Whitetails.

Hi Cannonman,
I’ve spent some tome in your town. Rode my motorcycle there a few years ago with my brother. Two bikes and 2 guys. Stayed at Croftville Cottages just north of town. Sampled the World’s Best donuts- they are! Overall, looked like a great area for hunting with a muzzleloader.
