For several decades here in the UK I have put on a Static Display at Game and Country Fairs also Agricultural Shows to represent different types of Muzzle loading shotguns through the ages . The idea of this is to educate the public about shooting it is surprizing that the public know very little about game or clay shooting with a muzzle loader. and also to bring in new members to the sport I have just finished 3 days at Agricultural shows and enclosed images of the display which mostly consists of fowling guns which maybe of interest to members.

Feltwad, Kudos for your display and educating more to the sport. The one with the "skeleton" butt stock is very interesting. Thanks for sharing with us.
P.S., very nice collection.

Great stuff, Feltwad! What a fabulous display of some fine-looking older guns there. Dare I hope that you shoot them all?

The gun with the skeleton stock is a coach gun which was used by the coachman and when not in use is folded and placed under his seat. The Agricultural show which I attend every year from which these images were taken is a two day event Wolsingham show in the north east UK which is the oldest Agricultural show in the UK

A wonderful display! Looks like there are two punt guns there?

Coot there is only one punt gun which is the one on the table the flintlock one on the stand is a 2 bore bank gun that is a gun that is used on the seashore it is place on the sea wall but mostly on the sand dunes that's how it gets its name , it was used mostly at small waders that feed on the shore with the incoming tide and when within range the gun was discharged into them . Like the punt gun they were tools of the trade fowlers made a living from these guns what they did not eat they sold at market.

No they are not shot now, more so with the lead shot ban for wildfowl , most are patent rare pieces with Damascus barrels and they would be soon ruined using steel shot , although there are other types of shot such has bismuth it is very expensive .
