I've been lurking for a few months and shooting black powder for about 2 years. It started with a .32 caliber Traditions Crockett I bought from a friend. I'm currently starting my first flintlock from a Pecatonica River parts kit and am really looking forward to the build. I look forward to the good discussions here.

Welcome to the Forum. It’s a “fountain of knowledge” with all the folks here.

You are lucky to be in the piedmont of the state with three muzzleloading gun clubs likely within about an hour or two drive from your door. And a custom gunmaker in the Greensboro area.

Drop me a line at [email protected] and I can fill you in on all the muzzleloading activity in NC.

If you’re free this weekend, come to the NC State Muzzleloading Championship Matches held near Duncan, NC, September 20-21-22. Approximately 70 participants from VA, NC & SC will be shooting muzzleloading rifles, pistols & shotguns.

Join in the discussions when you can.

Rich, I know the Piedmont area well. Looking to settle there next year. N.C. has a bounty of opportunities when it comes to Muzzleloading.
Also check out the links on the fish and game sites.

Welcome to the club! I'm originally from North Carolina, but have lived in Idaho for some time now. I'm new too, but I can already tell you that this place is a treasure trove of experience and advice!
