I'm convinced that until he gets the lock bolts adjusted to the correct length, flush to the lock plate, he will still have problems.

New gun or not, sometimes you need to do a little tinkering.

My fellow shootists, they are done with my lock and sending it back. They said they replaced the tumbler. Will advise once it returns, thanks.
When you get it back and install it into the stock, pay attention to the way the lock screws stick out thru the plate.
This will depend a lot on how much you tighten the lock and most of us tighten the lock screws more than they really need.
Anyway, if a lock screw is sticking out at all from the lockplate when it's tightened, remove it and file some material off of the end.
Bear in mind, the front screw is probably a different length than the rear screw if there are 2 screw holding the lock in place.
With the cock fixed and the lock screws the right length, you should be all set to have fun with your rifle.
Let us know if you happy with the lock and if you needed to fix the length of the lock screws.

Guys, the lock is back.
It’s fixed!! Everything seems to now be functioning normally. I am now noticing that if I tighten the sideplate screw too much, the set triggers turn wonky so I might need to address that, but as is it seems all is well.
Seems no screws are interfering with the cock and its traversment. Overall, I’m relieved and am so happy to FINALLY get the rifle to the range. The gun might need a bit more tweaking and adjustment, but as is, I’ve got the product I originally ordered and despite the issues, it seems to be all good. Looking forward to burning smoke with this rifle.

FYI you may already know this but, over tightening the side plate screws could possibly crack the wood.

Right, but the triggers get a little weird unless the screw is easily turned by hand, I.e. not even remotely snug.
When the set trigger is pulled, the front has a “click” takeup almost like a two stage trigger, and the set trigger (rear) also clicks when squeezing it. This doesn’t happen when the lock screw is loosened. I tried adjusting the trigger set screw and it didn’t do anything to fix the issue. maybe this has to do with the new tumbler?

Maybe its just me but for the $$ paid that would not be acceptable. I hope yer not just "settling" after so many issues. If its not even "remotely snug be sure to carry the appropriate tool to "hand tighten" in the field.....opps that would be yer hand huh? Perhaps another builder could go through this rifle and assist in turning it into what you paid for?

Probably should have sent the rifle back instead of just the lock.....
TVM should have covered the shipping if it was an issue they caused.....

I have a rifle that worked splendidly for years until one day at the range the triggers went "wonky". I checked it out really well and determined some wood needed removing from the lock mortise. Weird because it somehow swelled inside the mortise. A little judicious scraping and the problem was solved. It's still working fine.
