The great thing - that is to say, one of the FEW great things - about shooting here in UK the way that Messrs Feltwad and Britsmoothie do, is that unlike rifled firearms, having just a Section 2 Shotgun certificate means that you can have as many as you like to have, or can afford, of any kind [with a capacity of to three cartridges, that is]. A friend of mine collects hammer guns of all kinds - but only British-made - and he delights us all on a Sunday when he comes along with something new to him but that may have been made in 1880. He has well over three hundred such guns, and enjoys shooting them as much as he is able.

Over three hundred hammer guns must be a full days work for the Firearms Officer when he or she visits to check all the serial numbers when it is time to renew his Shotgun Certificate

I'm sure it is, but that is what they get paid for, right?
