I understand SP, I had issues with a horribly done precarve and a lock maker (not Chambers), this kind of stuff sticks in your craw. I was stuck with the precarve because I bought second hand, I got tired of returning the lock over and over and getting it back with serious issues. I had $20 more in the lock than retail just from return shipping costs.

Then there are the folk that treat you right; Scott from Colerain being one of them. I got an off center barrel from Tip Curtis and contacted Scott, he replaced the barrel and told me to pick any of his other barrels for free for my trouble. You can't get any better customer service than that.

Me too, purchased a brand new car for wife 2 hrs ago, issue after issue... took it back and traded it in. I purchased a brand new bike... same deal.. if there’s a lemon on the market to be bought... I’ll be the lucky one to buy it!

I guess that is why I keep my old stuff. I already know what is wrong with it or have already fixed it.

These days , most modern made locks have some deficiency needing corrected , don't care who the mfg'r is. If you build enough rifles , lock tuning just becomes part of the process. Anyone building a kit or trying a scratch build needs to check w/ knowledgeable person in regard to tuning a lock. Can't give someone a rifle you wouldn't use yourself...Charlie

I cant spell, I meant lemons are attracted to me, I would get the lemon rifle.

Somewhat same with me. I'm Irish and should be lucky, ended up being bad luck most of the time.

That was supposed to be 2 yrs ago... not 2 hrs ... I think my iPhone is a lemon too...:(

I guess the three of us are stuck in a loop. We should form a club.

Gene L. said it well. I own several TVM's and they are very fine rifles for my purposes and were made to my order. Whenever someone buys a used one it could easily be from a kit somebody did a mediocre job with; I've seen that, too.

well I will get in on this conversation, a couple of years ago I bought a early Virginia rifle kit from TVM, me and a friend built the gun. he did the fit and sanding on the xxx fancy maple. about half way through my friend told me the channel for the ramrod was off, not cut straight. by then it was to late, he had already sanded a lot of wood and I knew they would just blame us. so we finished it. I couldn't live with the lopsided looking under side so I traded it to my friend for something else. I will never buy from them again!

So you never even called the company to see if they would fix the problem yet you feel the need to post your issues here. A ramrod hole being off happens. Unless you talked to TVM to see if they would replace the stock then you have no business complaining on a public forum when the vendor has had no chance at all to make it right. (I have no TVM products but strongly believe ALL vendors are due respect until they prove they aren't. This posting of problems on social media and never dealing with the vendor has gotten right out of hand.)

Very unfortunate and a bad statement about whichever TVM did that horrible job. You would be justified demanding a refund. Personally, I would not risk a rebuild.
They should take the whole thing back, and start over. Or refund cleanly. The company always had a good reputation, hope it gets up to snuff....

Thats ok, been a week now since the OP stated he had sent the lock back and folks think it is a 30 minute repair. No word on the resolution. its ok folks keep dog piling on this dead topic. wonder why no communication as to the resolution.

you are correct. I didn't give them a chance to correct it. because like I said I did not know it was off until my friend was half way done with it! it was to late! and no I will not buy from them again! that is my opinion and my right! I am a business man also, I understand mistakes, I rebuild transmissions, and when I am done I test it out. I do not let a vehicle leave my shop being a piece of junk! if it fails in the field they can return it for repair, but when I put the keys in a customers hands it is right! but if you inspect a product right before it leaves your shop it should not leave with the entry pipe hole lopsided! sorry, when I pay that much for something I expect it to be right, don't you?

So if you dont call the company to let them try and make it right, that then gives you the right to trash a company years later that truely could be an unfounded accusation? Another fundemental wrong.

"You know back in the day, 1883 i believe it was the year, i got me a set of bridles for me horses. One was longer than the other. Never did business with the bugger again, me horses kept turning in circles and wouldnt walk a straight line. Dont recall the name of the company, dodge bros maybe?"

Won't buy a car or truck from them either to this day. Never have told them why either.

well I will say it again! "read slow please" "I did not know, until the gun was half way done, that it had a problem" if I had called them then do you think they would have said "sure, send it back for another"? no and if you are a rifle builder you wouldn't either! and neither would I because it was to late in the game! it should have never been SENT OUT LIKE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!
