Another old guy who loves muzzle-loaders. I don't shoot much although I hunt with one. Am fascinated with Rev War stuff and most anything before the War of Northern Aggression.

Welcome, which part of the north georgia mountains you at these days? Marietta/ellijay myself.

Hey Pete... Me too. I got started in m/l's back in 1970. I was fresh outa school w/no cash. You could even buy the occasional original for $250. I was so disappointed , the Only answer was to build my own. I've had a long term relationship w/ML rifles and nearing the 140 gun mark. I'm not quitin' Til' the casket gets me.

Hello and welcome Pete. I spent some months on a farm near Clarksville about 1974. Hitchhiked from Beaumont, Texas. I had recently purchased my first C&B, a Colt's 1849 pocket revolver, 6" barrel with loading lever.
My dad sold it for whiskey while I was gone. Been shooting black powder ever since, have enjoyed every minute. Still do, and I hope you enjoy the Forum as I have these last 5 years. Never owned another pocket revolver, but recently I found the little 'Eagle' flask that went with it. George.

Hey, Pete. We soon gonna have enough Georgia folks for a get together of some kind. I live down here near Hawkinsville. Been by Tiger a bunch of times.

Pete, While living in Georgia, I was able to travel a couple of times to Rabun County, just north of us. My employer's grandson took me with him to Tiger to the home of Suzy and Harry mentioned in the introduction of one of the Foxfire books. They had built their own house and it was really nice with pine board floors and paneling and a fireplace in the living room along with stairs to one side. The porch across the front looked about 8 feet off the ground and we went in the back. Suzy and Harry were great folks, he was making ceramic plates at the time and made me feel like family. Thanks for the memory, Pete.
