Here is my toy canon, I made from junk. The wheels are bad gears I pulled out of the garbage at work. The carriage is curly maple, rescued from an old pallet. The barrel is a cut-off 38 cal., I bought for 10 bucks on flea bay. I tapped it and made a breach plug from a fine threaded bolt. Other parts are plumbing parts.
I have fired a bullet, just to say it can. But I only use for noise making fun, with only a patch over about 50gr FFFg.
Nothing serious, just fun!
Thanks for looking, Dan

What caliber it it? Looks very nice.
Close to 50. Been project in continuous tinker mode. Made it in metal shop in 1974. Lathe turned out of cold rolled tool steel. Threaded breach. Started out 40 cal. Rifled it and made special mold for hollow bullet filled with bp and a #11 primer crimped in head. Yep, incendiary. Longest shot 200 yards. Would leave a hole size of softball and throw clearly visible fireball. Decided probably not that great idea. So, I just shoot blanks at 4th and new years and sometimes just to annoy the neighborhood. Just bored it up to near 50 and tried my hand at making wood wheels this year. The wheel have been trimmed and cleaned up since the pix. For those that are not familiar with cannons the shape and size of the bell on the muzzle dictates the tone it makes. This one has a very nice low rumble to it. If we get some rain next week I'll video it and post it. Bit too dry to be firing flame throwers right now. Thinking about making an ammo wagon/cart, forget the proper name, for it. Maybe I can train my Chihuahua to pull it. Wish I had access to a lathe. Like to have one 2ft long that shot size of v8 can. Would shoot patch golf ball.

Bang, if you fire it I would like to see a video. Especially the ones filled with bp and cap!
I don't do the incindaries any more. Haven't since around 1989. Don't even have the equipment to make them plus it has been bored out twice since then. It's not the kind of ammo you want to get caught with. That's why I stopped. But when I can I'll vid it with a blank so you can see and hear it.
