So I wanted to make a few changes to make my TC Hawken look a tad better. By the time I was finished all that was left of the original was the lock, trigger, and tang. I installed a 1 in 66 Green Mountain 32 inch barrel. Then all iron furniture from the Hawken shop, on a Pecatonica curly maple stock. I am quite pleased with the results.
That's a beautiful rifle and I love the wood grain. Great job!

OK, OK, you are master class. That is wonderful. Finish shiny is alright but your work is super.

I also re worked my old TC Hawkin. Used the Hawkin shop iron furniture and site. Re browned the barrel and used some brass black on remaining brass parts.
I also removed the cheek rest as I have to shoot left handed because of eye issues

Torpedo, really nice job! I have a .54 with a Fox Ridge barrel and am wanting to do the same. a couple questions for you.
1. The kit you got from the Hawkins shop did the trigger guard fit the pre-drilled holes for the factory trigger guard?
2. Did the butt stock come from the Hawkins shop also? or was it one from the Pecatonica River offerings?
3. What level of maple did you use cause that looks great to me!

I'm seriously considering doing the same thing to my TC Hawken or possibly buying a Lyman GPR and replacing the stock on that with a Pecatonica grade 4 maple stock.

Did you have to remove a lot of wood to get everything to fit or is the stock pretty spot on?

I always wanted to do that to my TC Hawk. Somebody relieved me of it one day tho, darn thieves.

Good looking rifle. Good job.

Will be following your lead on your TC Hawken replacement stock , just waiting for the stock. Will be using my old sears and roebuck 50 cal Hawkens barrel. If you don't mind Sir, what color stain did you use, really like the look of it. Thank you and have a bless day.
