I recently purchased a vintage Uberti 1851 colt replica with a square trigger guard and the nitrite blue finish. There is a six digit serial number with no letter prefix. The number starts 125xxx. On the top of the barrel is stamped Primitive Arms, Branson Mo. Over the proof marks is AU in a box but I believe that is for A Uberti.

On the receiver is a code mark that will date the pistol. It will be a couple of letters like XX or XV that indicates the year made. Find that and we can help.

The AU means you have a 1989 year of manufacture ‘vintage’ Italian replica gun.

Thank you. I thought it would be much older. I have never seen a Uberti with the nitrite blue.
