I've been out before with the new/used Lyman Great Plains Rifle .54 cal that I picked up from another member here. I couldn't be happier to tell you the truth, it really is a tack driver on that 10" steel AR500 plate. My left shoulder injury ie torn rotator cuff won't allow me to off hand shoot much.

Thems good shootin' rifles for sure. Thats why I kept mine.
What thickness the patch? I use a .18 in mine. No way I could double patch it.
I'm going to have to check, the first shot at 31 yards was low on the plate.... doubled the Muzzleloader Originals was a .010" thickness for the .530 round ball. I'm thinking of using the .535 round balls next, just to see with the same patch.
