Any one have idea who will sell the newer style hammer on Lyman flintlock.
I have a early 1980 Hawkins rifle in 50 cal.marked investarm.
The stock hammer works but it will scrape the frizzen Midway.
A few years back t/c did improve on there hammers to hit higher on the frizzen face. The t/c locks were reliable if you change out the frizzen to a Lyman.

Can't help you on getting another hammer. Yes it is better to hit higher, but the bottom line.....Does it spark and into the pan? If you have a vice and a propane torch you can back stretch the hammer a bit real easy. Just make sure that you trace the original configuration on a white piece of paper. Heat and using a hard piece of wood tap it back a smidge. If you bend it back about 1/8" from it's original shape, you should bring the jaws up enough to see a result. Just my thoughts.
