.36 cal rifle kit

Been looking for 2 days, no luck. Does any one make a simple, complete. 36 cal percussion rifle kit?

I know 36 caliber barrels are available, but complete kits reasonably, I don't think so. I wanted a 36 or 40 caliber kit for a young shooter but only found a 45 that could be assembled in short order for use. It was by no means a historical replica but has been enjoyed as a shooter. It is a Traditions kit sold by Deer Creek.

Dixie Gun Works sells Pedersoli kits in their Kentucky model and Frontier model. Both of these can be had in 36.

Have you looked at a Kibler kit? I know he has flintlocks, but maybe he could work up a percussion for you. Couldn't hurt to ask.

Hello, Mudcreek I have a .36 caliber southern long rifle unfinished I would turn loose of, it has a 42"x13/16ths barrel by Ed Rayl which is coned. The lock is a Dixie gun works Southern Mountain percussion and the stock is local Ozark black walnut. the double set triggers are Dixie from Belgium. I have a Tennessee style triggerguard and have installed one or two ramrod thimbles. The shaping and inletting is basically done, it needs a lot more wood removed. I want to sell it to finance a smoothbore If you're interested, I'll ask a decent price and maybe trades, PM me and I'll arrange pictures on here. All parts are brand new.

Above Kibler seems to get nothing but praise from folks who have done business with them. Track of the wolf, pecotonic and sitting fox offer kits that can be put together in poor boy or barn gun styles sans butt player, entry thimble nose cap and small simple side plate or none at all. Built time about eighty hours.

Simple is the key word in your question. You don't want a Track or Pecatonica kit because they are anything but simple to put together. A Kibler kit is not for an absolute beginner either although it is doable if you take your time and watch all of Jim's assembly videos, patience is the key, get in a hurry and you will goof up.

Sounds like a Pedersoli kit would be what would work best for you.
