Was wondering who and all is going to Dixon's this year.

I'm planning to go. I may just buy a stock blank if I find one at a reasonable price. I'm going to try my hand at building a Flintlock from a blank the next time around.

I'll be there. Looking forward to Dave Person`s demo on shaping the wrist and lock area. I am working on a list of things I want to purchase while I am there.

Hi,
If you go and have a gun made, consider putting it in for judging at the fair. There are quite a few categories like "first gun", "apprentice class", "journeyman class", and "master class". There is also best of show. You also can declare your gun traditional or contemporary. In each class there are awards for engraving, carving, conformation, craftsmanship, and patchbox. The judges provide a detailed sheet for each gun explaining their judging and it is another chance for you to learn.

What town? I am just outside of New Bridgeville.

I'll be looking for a stock blank. But I need at least 2.5 inches thick for my project.

Hey,, I live around the spry area. n do most of my shooting at issac Walton league..i hunt around woodbine..

Springfield Art is going on Friday; the first day, you're more likely to pick up that neat-o item before someone else buys it off a table! The drive up there is so perfectly 'Summer Pennsylvania', it is just a nice tradition. Many also go down the road to Cabela's and Cigars International! (I'm not connected with them, just a suggestion.)

If you go to Dixon's a stop at Dietrick's Meats is obligatory, best beef jerky on earth. I have made road trips just to get their jerky.

Wow. Thanks. I've by that place several times and never noticed it. That's the way I go to Dixon's too. I am going to look for it when I head up there this year.
