We're going back to basics again in July, mostly because my internet is out at home so I have to go to the library to do anything I can't do on my smartphone, (Like post longer thread topics such as a contest rules post)

Your target will be a plain piece of paper with lines drawn diagonally corner to corner making an X.

Scoring will be done by measuring the distance of the shot from the center of the X

Lowest total of 5 shots wins.

Rules to follow:

Fire 5 shots only, misses count!

The shooting distance for this contest is 25 yards.

No do-over’s.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzle loading firearms; peeps are allowed under the condition you mark your target so I know you used a peep. (Tracking it)(NO Cannons) . Percussion or flintlock ignition. Cap and Ball revolvers are OK.

Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at the stated distance. Standing or seated is allowed, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso. In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle.

Only original targets will be accepted. No copies, faxes, scan, etc.

Mutilated targets, or targets with more than 5 holes will be disqualified.

The center of the shot and the placement on the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant's score will be posted at the end of the contest.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.

As stated above if you use peep sights that too must be marked on your target. (Pretty Please!)

Mail your target postmarked by July 31st 2019 to:

Adui, we have a couple of members over seas who may have difficulty in getting a target here by mail. I for one would not have a problem with them emailing or posting it here to get in the mix or at least having honorable mention.

Try styrofoam packing peanuts suspended from 1.5' of sewing thread. If more weighty target is prefered, try elbow macaroni or a 3" piece of Linguini hanging the same way. Oh, my devious mind freely works over time. I have 50+ like these for Rondy novelty courses. That's where I became the "mental skewed target master" for my clubs past events. I think they still have a wanted poster somewhere with my name on it. That's why I switched it. I won't mention what it was.

Shane a gress, and Ames. Your targets are here, you are the first two on the scoreboard.

Folks I am sorry I haven't posted scores on June yet. I'm taking my laptop to a friend's house to post them tomorrow Eve

Hi All,
Anyone mind if I step into these contest games as well. Will be shooting one of my percussions, perhaps even my flint/cap conversion GPR for now. Over time may transition to straight flint, but don’t hold yur breath on that.
Hope to be shooting a target today.

Mailed her away today Adui, curious to see how long it takes from up here.
I used a capper, and wish I wouldn’t have pulled a couple! That first shot was bang on the mark and I thought to myself “this is gonna be easy”. Probably shouldn’t think!!

Got er’ done this morning while it was only 98% humidity and little wind....

Thanks again Adui
