I am looking for one of these rods to see if it will improve my shooting.
The 'KaDooty' is simply a slip-hammer; a weight which drops from a known height onto a stop and which 'pounds' the ball and patch in a controlled manner - kind of like bouncing your ramrod off the ball until it rebounds. It also slightly deforms the ball to make a tighter fit in the barrel. As for accuracy, unless you always tend to loosely seat your balls (no pun intended), it would not do much, although the earlier advertising for it made it sound like the end-all-be-all of loading.
I have one I never used. I will take 20 bucks and shipping. Lou
Ok, Lou how do I send the money?I have one I never used. I will take 20 bucks and shipping. Lou
I know what you mean. I am they type that will try just about anything to get better groups while at the range shooting from a bench. But, if I am going to be running around in the woods I like to keep it simple and light so this would only be used at the range.Using Pyrodex I found seating pressure important so I made a simple tool with a spring in it to seat the ball. I lost the picture when old puter failed. Just a wood with a spring in it to compress even. I never pound a rod to seat. I cringe watching guys slam the rod because impact can ignite BP and smokeless.
Zorba, the thing is gone, I confused you and someone else and after all the experts sounding off I took the first call for it. Lou
