Well I have thought about getting a .50 Hawkins kit and building it to hunt with but really don't know which one to get. I need to find a place to get shooting supplies locally I really have just started
I have not found any local sources for muzzle loading supplies. No real black powder. I have purchased most of my supplies from Track Of The Wolf. There catalog is pretty intensive. Just finishing up a Kibler Colonial .54. First one I had him build it "in the white" because I was not certain of my abilities and wanted my first to be a keeper and want to get out there shooting ASAP. It has been fun finishing the lock, stock and barrel. Let me know if I can help you, I know just enough to be dangerous HA. Perhaps we will be able to have a shooting session together

Not aware of any real BP shops in Texas. Black powder can be bought in Brady in June and October, was plenty in June at a good price. Most folks here order it. The vendor had a good selection of supplies as well.

I buy from TOW but have switched to Log Cabin, I like their catalog better. They also have gunsmith services.
