I just got a pair of 44 cal 1860 armies from Taylers by Pietta. I have read everything that comes with them, and cannot find what size caps I should use, I want to replace the nipples with Treso but want to go shoot!

What size caps do I need for factory nipples?

Anything else I should know? I’m a newbie to percussion revolvers!

Thanks!!

Probably #10. Most revolvers are factory sized for #10. A #11 cap is close and can be lightly pinched to hold to the nipple.

Yes, there is a slight risk of chain fire with #11 caps. So get the #10 (Remington caps have thinner skirts) caps for the factory nipples.
