I wanted to order some of the French amber flints from Heritage but the only way to make a payment was through PayPal which I won't use. I didn't see anyway to contact Heritage directly. Anyone know anything that will help? Thanks.

I get most of my flints from Track of the Wolf. I give them a description of how I want my flints to look, example: Flat on top, no obvious inclusions in flint. And that's what they mostly send. Unless one breaks I'll get around 40 shots out of each one.
I haven't ordered from these folks but I might next time I need some.

Paypal is the best thing that's ever happened to me... my brother and i own some land and every year i used to tell him his portion of taxes and he said he'd get a check in the mail.... which often didn't happen until I reminded him a few more times.
Now i text him the amt, he sends a paypal payment from his bank to mine, problem solved.

Thanks to paypal you can pay for the REAL bullets i have on the classifieds and i can send them same day; no lag time waiting for the USPS or a check to clear.

If you can use whatever you use to get on here, then you can use PP.
'Taint rocket science.

Dixie Gunworks in Tennesse is my source of flints or if you are further north Track of the Wolf

Rich , like many others I have used your flints and really liked them. Too bad you stopped selling them,Like many others I am knapping impaired. If you ever start selling again Let me know I could make you a nice knife for payment. Ramrod

Actually, it has nothing to do with my social/political views. It's that I don't know how to use it and don't want to learn. Must be my age. I ordered some flints from October Country.

John, compared to me, ye are young. I use Pay Pal. The learning curve is very easy. It is like a bank ye click on instead of parking and going into a tellers window. Yer choice.

I'm sure glad to hear about Heritage. Especially since they are local to me. I'll start using them when I run out. I've been buying the English flints from TOTW with general success. They carry every imaginable size which is also useful in my case. I expect the occasional "hump" in a flint, which is not difficult to grind off. But it just seems in the last couple years I've been getting a lot with humps. Anyone else notice this ?

Good black English flints are getting nearly impossible to find in my locale without online ordering. I've decided to go to the next gem and rock show and try to buy a raw flint nodule and learn to knap my own. There's a few good videos on YouTube about the subject.

I have recently gotten nice flints from Mike Lea in Columbus, OH. He is a BP gunsmith and is online as Mike Lea and Daughter
Read your post and just want to make a comment. Mike Lea was the gunsmith who made The left-handed pan flash deflector for my flintlock. I can really complement him on it, it works well and does what it's supposed to do.

I suppose it's like most things modern, I'll get used to it. I sure do miss looking through a catalog though and ordering from a human who speaks English.

I scrounge the creeks and river banks for flint for the challenge of making my own. I keep flints from Track of the wolf.
I have had my identity stolen twice in 10 years because of Pay-Pal, Tracked it down. even know what was purchased and where the merchandise went.
I'm not saying good or bad, just my experience.

Strange,
I have had a PayPal account for more that 20 years. NEVER a single issue with them.
Every year or so I change all of my passwords (for all of my online accounts)
Where folks get in trouble is using the same password for multiple sites.
One dishonest vendor may take your password you used on his site, and probe accounts using your email and that password until he finds where you used the same one. Just don't do that.
