Wouldn't reach the bottom of most of my long guns. On a couple of them not even half way...
And how do you see down the barrel with that in the barrel???
Griz, the head is only 1/4”, so it doesn’t prevent me from seeing bottom of my 50 and 58.
The battery compartment stays outside.
In my Whitworth I need to keep it hard against one side.
Even half way down it illuminates the bore real well.

The Thill Bobber Light is a throw away unit. However I have had the same one for several years and still really bright. You just pull up on the stem of the light to turn it on and push down to turn it off. I figure for 4 bucks and many years of service it's well worth it. The lights are available in red, green, yellow. Buy one I gurantee you won't be disappointed.

I just may give the Thrill bobber a try. It sounds like the most "economical" of the various lights. Some of us are on a fixed income. And Medical Expenses dont allow the buying of much of anything unnecessary. Custom made guns and gadgets just aren't in the budget.

I agree with you. That's why I haven't sprung for a Thrill bobber. I just use my illuminating ink pen to shine down the bore for inspection. Ya just can't spend on superfluous things.

View attachment 9888 This light really helps me see all the way to the breech.
Runs on AAAA batteries, which are hard to come by but it beats the drop in lights, which seem to have a green or yellow tint. The wand is 18” long.
Now I can quit guessing.

I have been using them for years on my unmentionable guns, I think I have three of them, I keep one in the range bag, SASS cart.
