Not sure if this is the right forum for this but here goes.

Can someone tell me how long Davis takes to ship out a Deerslayer trigger? I sent my money order a few weeks ago and haven't heard a peep out of them?

TIA,

John

Just trying to get some experiences from folks who have ordered from them. I hate to bother small businesses with phone calls if I get get info from others experiences. I had a gun repair business for many years and phone calls took me away from the job.

I understand, but..... thats why they list their phone number...… My wife and I were in this "muzzle loading and tent business" and for us, phone calls were to be expected and that was in the days before cell phones and internet. When you were in the gun repair business, you never called a supplier to check on an order you were waiting on .....

Just my thoughts.

I broke a back trigger on a Davis trigger bending it to fit in my trigger guard. I ordered a new trigger from them over a year ago, they were not in stock at that time and he said he had trouble getting individual parts. Track was out of them as well but got them back in stock a few months ago so I ordered one from them. I suspect my order from Davis went out into outer space.

I have found it is better to order from a place like Track, their online catalog shows what they have in stock and you will have your item in a couple of days.

Not a fan of Davis here. I bought a lock from them that had a defective frizzen. Called about it, guy who answered complained he did not want to talk on phone. I wrote about the problem. They sent me another frizzen BUT CHARGED me for it. Call them but be all business, they do not, in my experience, understand courtesy or good customer service.

On their Contract Rifle lock I had to make a new sear for it because it was a bad design. But now the lock is just right for my build in progress. Asking them to fix it wasn’t going to work as the part shape is the problem. It can be tiring buying stuff and having to fix it but when I have a special need I’m willing to do it.

I like their early round faced English lock and their early Colonial lock. Both are excellent speakers for me (but I’ve only 1 of each).

You shouldn't feel that way. You are a paying customer, they are a business. You as a customer have every right to inquire as to when you will receive your order. If they take issue with that then they are not a business I'd be dealing with.

I agree with Eric, look on one of the supplier websites, like TOTW or Muzzleloader Builders Supply. You will know if they have the item you want in stock, and once ordered you will get it, most times in days, not weeks.

When I was in Friendship in September I went into their booth to buy the trigger you want.

The person said that they were out of them and the folks who made them were behind in production and it would be November at the earliest for shipment.

As pointed out, shop other places and know if they are in stock.

Folks get behind, I wanted something from Tedd Cash, they were 3 months behind in making things.

Some times you just have to wait.
