Hey there, I've been into firearms my entire life and have always wanted to get into blackpowder firearms. I never got any because I had no outdoor range close to me. Finally found one.

Got myself a Pietta 1851 Colt navy. Went to the range the other weekend and had a blast. I'm already looking at buying a Colt dragoon and a Springfield 1861. This looks like a great community and hope I learn much from it.

Thanks,
Daniel

Thanks guys. Since it's getting nice out, I will definitely be out shooting more.

I'm in Montgomery County too! :thumb:

Where in the County do you live? I am in the Kentlands/Lakelands. I trying to find a place to shoot for the first my first time. Where do you shot? The place I shoot at is indoors and doesn't allow BP. I would really like to talk over the phone, I am on the computer all day and typing becomes old. My number is 301-355-0838. I work out of a home office so most days I am free to talk. Because of all the spam phone calls I usually don't pick up on numbers I don't recognize, So either send me your number so I will know to answer or just call and leave a VM and I will return your call as soon as I can.

Hello guys,
I am from Maryland also, out in Harford County. Luckily I can get up to PA. easy for shooting outdoors on a couple of ranges. I have been shooting competitively for 60 years, and still shoot NRA HIghpower. A lot of BP shooting along the way. I would point out that Thrumont Conservation and Sportman's Club is outside Frederick, Md, and might be close enough for shooters from Montgomery County. Very nice club, good people and very active in Cowboy Action Shooting.

Associated gun clubs at Marriotsville was a good place. They shot everything there, or used to. I belonged to the Berwyn Rod and Gun club for many years. It was closed for several years but has re opened from what I understand. My knowledge of Md is old as I left Wheaton in 1992. I shot on the Md high power team in the 80's.

Necrodude, since you shoot at the Marriotsville Range, you're familiar with the Maryland State Muzzleloading Shoot there, which is held on the first weekend of May. A couple of us drove up there from NC a few years ago and had a great time. The Saturday night dinner was delicious.Wonderful hospitality.

Welcome to the forum from NC!

Does Mary Land even let you shoot? Liberal state that we do not have a gun and cross the border. Worst drivers in the country too. I live close to Harpers Ferry, WV and you would be welcome to shoot at my home.
It is strange because in deer season the shooting from across the Potomac is unreal.

That's a pretty long shot!
Seriously, what kind of restrictions are you talking about?
