I heard all these good things about Traditions Customer Service and me personally, I have not found that to be the case.

I heard all these good things about Traditions Customer Service and me personally, I have not found that to be the case.

I have had mixed results with them.
This is the longest it has taken them to do something for me though, and communication through email this time is really poor, like none.

I thought for sure they would at least acknowledge that they had it, but nothing.

I am sort of using this as a test for them as I really do not need it, and will more than likely be selling it once it is back.

The 1858's are much more in line with the direction I am heading, and I plan on getting a couple more when all is said and done.
Solid frames and easy cylinder replacement (literally 10 seconds or less quick, with a little practice) has sold me on them.

You think customer service is bad at Traditions, you ought to have to deal with the VA (veteran's admin). I have had a claim in since Jan. 29th and just heard from 'em today that they had received it.

Y'all sound like yours is the only one sent in for repairs.
I sent mine in before you did, so when they're finished with mine, yours will be somewhere next in line:p

That is why I have never used them. Blessed to have good medical, but I do pay for it. Dad used the VA late in life. I got in the system, but don’t trust or use them. POTUS kicked a lot of deep state bad apples to the curb, about 500 total. Still need for improvement from what I read and hear from my buddies that use them.
Oh, and I’m dishing you AZbpBurner :D

Weekly update:
Called Traditions this morning and they still have not worked on it.

I was told it was in line to go on the bench for repair sometime next week.
Tomorrow it will be 3 full weeks that they have had it.

A search for the answer to the question "how long for a Ruger gun repair", the shorter wait times ranged from 10-21 days.
But 2 people said that it took either 5 or 6 weeks.
The 3 threads represents a relatively small sample. ;)

Well, that is really slow. But, I suspect this crappy weather time of the year is probably when most folks like to send stuff to be fixed, since they aren't doing much shooting anyway. GoWacky finally got his Crockett rifle back from them, and it was fixed and running reliably finally. It only took three trips to them to get it right, but they finally did. At least the weather had been bad even in TX, so he didn't miss much shooting time with it, and is finally pleased with the outcome.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Guess I won't be dishing AZbpBurner either. LOL I wonder if he ever got his back yet? Good luck.

Traditions has now had the 1851 for 4 weeks.
That is literally in their hands for 4 weeks with no update from Traditions etc.......
heheh, I think if this goes beyond 2 months I will just go and pick up another while I wait.

No, I wouldn't.
Considering that they provided you with such prompt service before, it ends up working out to an average wait time.
They probably only have one repair technician working on guns while doing other warehouse duties too.
Just be patient and shoot another gun until they finish it up.
But maybe inquire about it again soon.

Good point, and besides, I want another Remington style anyway.... just need to pick a year.
Heheh, I am just using this as a test for others to gauge what direction they should take if they have the same issues.
I have 4 others I can shoot if need be, so eh.....

More than likely you are correct about them only having one tech who does many other things besides bench work.... been there myself on quite a few jobs..... even cleaned the restrooms while being a manager at a couple of shops, all part of the daily duties!

You know what multi-tasking is about.
They sell so many more products and accessories than they used to probably keeps them busy.
They're located about 40 miles away from me and I used to visit their little company store yearly.
Even though I haven't been there in a long time, when I called a couple of times recently with questions the lady still remembers me because of my city.
It's mostly a warehouse with loading docks and nice customer service reps. answering the phones.
When I've walked in the door, the secretary/receptionist could be putting together packages of bullets at her desk.
[I guess they gear up for hunting season during the summer.]
Then they would need to get someone to escort me to the 1.5 rooms that's "the store".
It's not like a regular store with foot traffic.
She needs to unlock a door just to let a person into the office area after signing into a registration book.
But that's how I've met one of their repair tech's, and he'll build kits when he has spare time, and they sell scratch & dents, test guns and stuff like that.
If a customer wants something not on display, they'll try to find the item while waiting in the store.
There's maybe a dozen employee cars in their parking lot during the summer anyway when some workers could be on vacation.
They've even fixed a long gun [lock] for me once while I left it there for 2-3 hours and then came back to pick it up.
But now days they must have a full time gun smith because they're expanded their gun lines so much.

It would appear that the 1851 is headed back home to me.

According to the UPS email notification, I should have it back by the 11th.
4+ weeks really is not all that bad in my opinion.

That's fair to middling, they could have done better or much worse.
But at least we've had a good time waiting for it together!
Let's hope that when it's received that it's all fixed and looks as good as new.
I'd hate to see anyone need to send it back because it wasn't fixed right the first time.

It sure as heck better look like new because it was, and never fired! Heheh...
I have the serial number documented, and will know for sure if they just replaced it or fixed it.

Final report on this one.
UPS just dropped it off and all is good again.

The paperwork that came with it from Traditions confirms that the had spring was broken and they replaced it.
Actually quite pleased with the whole event, so Traditions is still ok by me.
