Just a bit of information if we are talking about the original guns:

If you have a 6 shot, .36 caliber open top Colt it is either a Colt 1851 Navy or it is a Colt 1861 Navy. The Colt 1861 Navy is the streamlined version that looks like the Colt 1860 Army with the creeping loading lever.

The Colt 1862 Police model and the Colt Pocket model of Navy caliber were both .36 caliber but they had 5 shot cylinders.

Remington also made several .36 caliber closed top revolvers. The Remington Beals Navy (without safety notches), Remington 1861 Navy (with safety notches), Remington New Model Navy, Remington New Model Single Action Belt revolver and the Remington Rider New model Belt revolver were all 6 shot pistols.

Remington also made a New Model Police revolver in .36 caliber. It had a 5 shot cylinder.

Hi bang - Yours is a shortened 1861. Pietta markets them as "Police" on the Navy and later 1860 Army frame. Original Colt's police were on the .31 frame with a rebated cylinder. Yours is simiflutted with a Navy cylinder, correct? Nice guns, those.
No. Looks exactly like 1858 but has 5.5 barrel and is 6 shot 36 cal.
