Nate, The European Hares I encountered in the Black Forest were huge, as big as their axis deer. Are they of the same stock in Great Britain?
Yes sir.
I don't think as big as axis deer but they are sometimes mistaken for muntjac deer.
I skinned out a muntjac sub-species in SE Asia many years ago. It had fangs like a saber tooth tiger. Beautiful little animal.
