Very troubling is the information that other researchers have not been able to replicate Dr. Bastian's reported results.

LD
I am hoping this is similar to the ulcer/Helicobacter pylori link and that there is something there of consequence since it could be a significant discovery. Unfortunately, the information we have isn't sufficient to truly determine significance.

This thread reminds me of FaceBook rants that I try to avoid. Going from CWD to politicians, computer tech stuff doesn't belong here.
Isn't it ironic that you used a computer to express displeasure with a thread that has taken the same course as nearly EVERY other thread on this site. Conversations evolve. Why shouldn't threads follow the information?

In this specific thread, CWD and politicians are inextricably intertwined, as this is a politically-motivated campaign despite its near absence of information or actual scientific knowledge on CWD.

That is troubling indeed.
But when something as simple as differences in the water between labs replicating studies has been shown to cause the outcome to be opposite that already reported, I won't try to speculate as to what might be happening. It might be a problem and it might not - just not enough information.

I watched a few of Jim's videos recently. I feel like I need to go ahead an order one of his kits. Now, do I go for that insanely long and skinny mtn rifle, or the more robust colonial....

Oh, and the video seemed to be chocked full of hopes and dreams and wishes... not sure if I believe any of it.

I like my guns with a fuller figure and curves...

I WILL get a Kibler, BUT I will likley pay to have it finished as I am not up to the task at this time. Well....maybe I will do it, It's goin in the woods alot and no problem dinging and scratching somethin I did VS a work of art????

Wow Necchi, such venom directed at the rest of us who choose to utilize the incredible resources offered online while you stay in the dark by choice.
There are many options available for those of us that seek information and knowledge. The proliferation of random and easy to view u-tube and other videos dosen't make a knowledge data base when the poster is;
"Ooh, cool,, look at this!" "I learned something",,
Yeah, Ok, Thanks for sharing.
Now that parts done,, wanna really study CWD? Or is the learning curve now finished after the interesting video share?

I'm a long time reader of science publications and can't help but point out something about scientific "breakthroughs" that's become seemingly "de rigueur". Near the end of these articles it's quite usual to read "...in 5 to 10 years...". I've too often seen at least 20 years go by while still looking for the breakthrough to become implemented.

That is because most clinical studies (of which their are several phases - https://www.accordclinical.com/clinical-study/types-of-clinical-trials/ or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phases_of_clinical_research) take years and FDA approval is on average a 10-15 year process. This is all in the name of safety - check the short-term efficacy of the drug or treatment, check long-term efficacy, look for issues/side-effects/problems/other. This is done to protect the public from undue harm from over-zealous proponents. Perhaps, while these trials are on-going, they find a problem and the treatment/drug is scrapped and never reaches the end consumer. There could be any number of reasons why or why not it gets through the process. Veterinary drugs/treatments would likely go through a very similar process. Anything that would enter the food-chain would also be closely scrutinized.

The time-table mentioned by the scientifically-illiterate Sportsmans council spokespeople was laughable, unrealistic and potentially criminal....

My PC with no speakers,, I don't care to "hook it up",, If folks got no words for a "forum" ? why share it?
Is it my fault people just click, scroll and copy/paste, instead of thinking with their own words?
If ya don't know,, then google an you-tube has the answer.(?)
What "soap" will be used for this one?

Yep, it is your fault, your problem, and pretty doggone easy to solve. Hook up a #$@$ speaker or don't whine.

You're just like the 10,000 women that are victims of domestic abuse: THEY JUST WOULDN'T LISTEN!
