For sale is an unfired custom made New England style underhammer boot pistol.
It has a 3 inch barrel that measures .41 caliber on the lands and .42 in the grooves.
Overall dimensions are 7.5" L X 3.5" H.
It does not have a half-cock, and the trigger is fairly light and crisp.
The maker basically told me that he hand made it except for the barrel and nipple.
He built it with a left-over barrel remnant from one of his underhammer rifle projects,
meaning that the "cast steel" stamp is only there to replicate an antique underhammer.
IIRC it has a revolver nipple installed on it.
The price is $205 including shipping to the lower 48.
Discreet Paypal is the preferred payment method.

8 Bore, I basically only got 2 measurements from the .41 which I think are from the lands & grooves.
At first I thought it was a .42, but then when I doubled checked and got a different measurement, that it was on the lands.
I tried to explain that in the ad.
But I did not have the same difficulty measuring it as I did with the .36 underhammer.
I started a private conversation with you to address your other questions.
Thank you for your questions and interest in the guns.

"IIRC it has a revolver nipple installed on it".

What does "IIRC" mean?"

IIRC = If I remember correctly.

It is a revolver nipple that fits a #10 cap, but a #11 cap can reportedly be squeezed to fit and work with it just fine.

IIRC stands for "If I recall (or remember) Correctly".

It indicates the person isn't real sure about it but it is what he/she remembers.

You probably already know this but the nipples made for cap & ball revolvers are shorter than the nipples made for rifles and single shot muzzleloading pistols.

I personally know this fine maker. Met him in the 70's and share a rifle range on his land. He makes all the working parts, starting with a barrel stock. He is a true pistol smith.

PS I also own one of his underhammers
