Been shooting BPCR for a while now and thought I might try my hand at Flintlocks. I played with some caplocks years ago but always wanted to try Flints. Not sure what I am wanting yet but I really like the long rifles. I don't know much about the styles yet. Seems like the majority shoot 50 and 54 calibers. I was thinking something more like 32 or 36 just for plinking etc.

Welcome to the Forum, Brad. BPCR to flint...that will be an enjoyable experience. We have quite a few flintlock shooters on here who use .36 and smaller, squirrel hunters and shooters who like the light loads and small amount of lead used. Search through the old threads to find discussions (although, often, pertinent information can be buried in a thread on a different topic). And just ask questions on the appropriate forum -as you are no doubt aware, the folks here with knowledge and experience are eager to share.
Enjoy.

Welcome to the group. I can vouch for a 36 caliber. Loads of fun!

I have all the parts to build a 36 cal flint longrifle. I have a CVA Varminter in 32 that I converted to flint that I love to shoot but I like the long rifles better!

Welcome and Good luck with your endeavors!!
