About 20 years ago I bought my wife this Traditions Pennsylvania Caplock. Neither of us knew much about gun fit as we both grew up doing only archery, and I had just started muzzleloading a year or so before that. Well...she's 5'2" and this gun was just too big for her as well as the pull was too long, so it was shot just a little bit and ever since has been sitting in the safe, only taken out a couple times a year to check the bore, wipe it down and re-oil as necessary, and put it back. Time to sell it.

Other than a scratch at the very end of the patchbox by the buttplate, this gun is like the day it came out of the box. There are no visible dents or scratches on the wood. I rate this one as excellent to virtually like-new condition. The bore is like the day it left the factory.

It is 50 caliber with a 40 1/2" straight octagon barrel with a 1-66 twist, square grooves. 7/8" across the flats.

The little shooting my wife did do was with 50 caliber Buffalo Ball-ets and even with the slow twist, I remember it to be very accurate...but then she always out shoots me whether with longbows or guns! I still have 1 1/2 boxes of the ball-ets if the buyer wants them. I don't think they make those anymore, but it is virtually identical to the Hornady PA Hunter conical that is still made. Or, I'll wager that a patched roundball is going to also shoot extremely well from this slow-twist barrel. We never worked up a roundball load.

The production rear sight was replaced with a Lyman adjustable rear sight. The production front sight was replaced with a Marbles ivory bead sight.

Length of pull is 13 1/2". Physical weight of the gun is 8.0#, which isn't bad for a gun as long as this one.

As you can see in the pics, this gun is loaded with bling. From the patchbox to all the inlays, it's a looker, which is one reason my wife wanted THIS one :)

$475 PLUS SHIPPING for this Like New gun.
