Hi, Sean. Thanks for the good hunting story. Nice Hawken, too.

Nice hunt. I've never hunting outside of W.Va. and Va., can't imagine hunting on the plains.

I wish that I could have the chance to hunt like that, just once in my life.

Great story, great hunt. Congradulations

Well he is back from the taxidermist

I hate the red wall , but the wife changes paint in the living room about every 2 years it seems, so it won't be long until he is on a proper wall. I think she hated the red as soon as it was up but was too stubborn to admit it because her sister suggested it (an accent wall).

They done a grand job of it. Impressive indeed.

I see the photos aren't still up, here are two from the hunt, the black is mud, as I said when I shot him he fell right into the water head 1st before stumbling out a few yards and going down for good.

He's a beauty. I remember your story when posted in 17. Loved reading it then and still now. I had a good friend who grew up on Cheyenne, WY, hunting every game species in the cowboy state. His favorite was Antelope. I turned him on to BP when he was in school where I live in Ohio. He gave it his best go with a Blue Ridge 50 cal then next season he was back home on the plains. He very nearly succeeded, but had to follow up with his 06. That was his last hurrah before passing away. His hunting tales always spawned my wonder lust for the west. Your's has, too.
So glad you claimed victory with your preferred choice of arm. I imagine looking up on your wall will be ever so sweeter, now that you hunted in the manner that gave you the most satisfaction.
