Hello,

Own a cannon from the A&K Manufacturing company of Tucson, AZ.

This company produced a few cannons in the 70's. The company was primarily a machine shop. I was able to find and speak with the owner of A&K a few years ago. He was quite old, and I am quite old.

Was wondering if anyone else might have knowledge about A&K?

I have owned this for about 15 years. Early on, I shot it quite a bit. It will put a miniball about 3,000 feet they say. I know it sure blows a nice hole in wood paneling at 100Yards.

As I remember it is a 59 caliber?

Cannon is about 27" long, Barrel is about 15.5", weighs around 17 pounds.

Problem is, I have lost most of my eyesight, and my brain is getting pretty fuzzy.

Does anyone have any advice on selling such a piece? I know I am not allowed on Ebay or Craigslist, but am not sure where to proceed?

I intend to continue my research of history and blackpowder until that is no longer possible.

Any help would be appreciated>

I agree.

It would qualify as something that could be put in the Firearms For Sale/Trade/Wanted section of the Muzzleloading Forum when/if Ivan decides he wants to do that.

I don't recommend using PayPal for payment. They have a policy against handling any payment that has to do with firearms.

thank you for the replies. I don't know where else to ask, so here goes..... Do Cannon's (or black powder firearms) need to go through FFL dealers if sold? I think years ago, I got this by UPS, can it still be shipped that way? And finally, does anyone know of any valuation documentation on cannon's? Many years ago, I was a trained auctioneer and appraiser. At the time of my schooling, the federal government had determined that the "True value" of any item was determined by an Auction (properly administrated - not ebay). Anyway, to really appraise an item, one looked at sales and auction results, documented! Not a whole lot exists for cannon's. But some of you folks probably deal with the "reality" of pricing and value often.
