I noticed in another thread that the "The "Original" North East Primitive Rendezvous" is being held in Goshen late in May. Anyone interested in going down there on May 26th? As Rabbit pointed out that is the day that folks who are not in period garb are allowed in. http://www.originalnepr.com/

Not having been to such an event I have some questions. Are there opportunities to do some shooting? For those of us going on public day, are there good and plentiful vendors to help lighten our wallets and add to our kit towards completing the clothes and gear needed for our interpretive persona? Muzzle loading arms builders/vendors? Skill demonstrations to watch and learn from? On public day, should we wear the period gear we have even though the outfit is not complete, and should we tote our firelock?

The booshway of the event will have set rules for the public participation. In past rendezvous that I have attended, only the registered rendezvous participants were allowed to shoot in the events, the public may or may not be able to watch the shooting. Usually the public can watch the "line" shooting events, but cannot go on the trail walks.
There may be some vendors on site, and some of the participants may have goods for sale. Usually there are some craftsmen doing leather work, or basket weaving etc.
I suppose you can wear your period gear on public day, but I have never done so, it is up to you.
