Thanks! I've been to Fort de Chartres several times in my life, and grew up about a half hour away on the Illinois side. Went to the rendezvous last summer and had a great time, bought a bag and horn among other things. Really neat. I live in Las Vegas but was home visiting family. I REALLY want to go back, and am deeply saddened such rendezvous are few and far between on the west coast.

Have been through The Alamo many times, you as an American have to consider it a sacred place. I am much interested in it's history and have asked the same question as we are interested in our historic guns of the past that defined our country.
Probably many of the military muskets of the time, mostly the Bess, Shotguns as mentioned, quite a few Eastern Longrifles, no Hawkens, mixture of personal firearms. I must add to one of the post above, we here in Georgia are proud to have had at least 4 brave men help Texas by giving their all at the Alamo and gaining Texas independence.

As a native born Texican, I thank you and Georgia! :hatsoff:

I was stationed at Fort McPherson from 1975 to 1977. The people from Georgia I met were very friendly and hospitable. A happy time in my life.
