I was fully registered and paid for the shoot,I even have a NEW HAT.. but had a last minute visitor drop in named "Irma".
We got through it better than a lot of fellow Floridians, and we're grateful.
God willing, I hope to see everyone in June. :thumbsup:

I won the Woods Walk last spring. I took the trophy to get it engraved and I had several engravers refuse to do it. They thought they might break it. I renewed my efforts this week and found someone willing to try. I will bring it back in June. I'm sorry that I could not be there in the fall. I realize that this may have inconvenienced some of you and I apologize. Since my winning was a fluke, I don't think I will have occasion to screw up again.

So everybody else, how about giving it a try this Spring. We normally gather at Noon on the Sunday of the shoot at Woodswalk World Headquarters and have a great time shooting and getting to know each other. PLEASE join in!
Over the winter, there was a lot of logging on the grounds of the NMLRA and while the Woodswalk range has not been fully rebuilt yet, it will be done, in plenty of time, and having walked the course last month, can testify the walk will look much different. Not bad, but different. Logging lets in a lot more light onto the hillside.
Last year Barry suggested a separate award for smoothbore at our walk, and I have a trophy to offer up. I admit it's not as nice as the beautiful plate, but I have a big ceramic beer stein with a woodland hunters scene which I will donate as a smoothbore award. It's not engravable, but it ain't bad.
So who's in?????

I've missed the last 2 but will be BACK...and...with a NEW HAT..!! :grin:
A year ago June, I woke up in my tent there on the grounds Sunday morning with everything I owned fully saturated/waterlogged from the heavy rainstorms.
I spent Sunday in a laundromat. :shake:
Last September...in order to avoid being embarrassed by some of you fellers on the Woodswalk, I was able to guide Hurricane Irma over my home here in Florida so as to give me a reasonable excuse not to show up. :redface:
Nest month...I'm planning to be there...God willing and (literally...) if the "creek don't rise" again. :haha:
